With our existing system about to implode, getting up and running in less than four weeks with Aquilon saved the day. I was told straight up that conversion and implementation would take a month, giving me a realistic sense of what to expect. Initially the plan was to keep both the old and new systems running for a month to catch any discrepancies. But things went so smoothly we were able to reduce the period of overlap to a few weeks. In the end everything was on schedule. I was really impressed.

 
Like any new system, it takes time to get used to how it works, but with training and direction from Aquilon’s support staff, we went live quickly and now rely on the software on a real-time basis. As we learn more and more about the software, we keep improving our processes and efficiencies. There is so much more to this software than meets the eye.

Our manufacturing efficiencies have improved, and our inventory management is on track. We have gained at least a 15% increase in productivity, enabling us to do more with the same resources. We have also streamlined our inventory systems and have complete control and visibility into inventory on hand, in the QA warehouse, and inbound from our suppliers and customers. We use the replenishment planning system extensively.

While there have been some occasions where we reported issues with the software, the software as a whole is error-free, fast, and robust. The implementation went smoothly and came in on budget. Aquilon is responsive to our support calls and always willing to work with us when we make suggestions for improvements.

We have been using the software for close to six years in our US and Canadian businesses, and it has been stable and robust. It may not have the beautiful interface of some of the competitors, but it is intuitive, easy to use, and works well. It has all the functioning modules that a wholesale/distribution business needs and works quite smoothly. We have zero cases of the software being down or data corruption.

On many occasions, we have suggested improvements to the software that would help our company and others. In each case, Aquilon has been willing to listen and get the changes done quickly.

The other thing we are very satisfied with is the technical support, says Victor. “The technical support team is very accessible and very knowledgeable, compare to the large software vendor, with whom the requests are usually handled by different tiers of technical support, and it usually takes quite long to get a solution. With Aquilon, our requests are always answered promptly, and the issues are solved quite quickly. The technical support staff we have dealt with are very knowledgeable with the software, which is a huge relief for our users, especially in the first few years”.

Many of the packages we looked at had good support for either manufacturing or distribution, but not both. “Plus, they were complicated,” says Jim, adding, “with Aquilon, the software is easy to use, and we have what we need across the board.”

Another pleasant surprise with the system is Excel-based reporting. While our prior system had useful standard reports, it was time-consuming to do anything custom. With the Excel and PDF export capabilities, it’s easy to generate the required data to satisfy our ad hoc information needs. In addition, Excel can be used to add or modify data that is then re-imported back into the system. Overall, we are very pleased with our decision, saying “Aquilon is affordable, stable, and reliable business software, offering features normally seen only in more expensive ERP systems.”

We are very satisfied with the system, in that we have the same functionality as much more expensive systems without the cost or hassle, commenting “We never do maintenance on the system, it just works,” says Randall, adding “Aquilon is an extremely well-proven system, and I cannot imagine any other that is as stable -- not even my smartphone is this reliable”.
